School Day

THE ACADEMY’S LEARNING DAY BEGINS AT 8.30AM, AND ENDS AT 3.15PM.

SCHOOL OPENS AT 8.15AM

Registration is conducted using our MIS and gives an accurate indication of attendance, punctuality and absence. 

Pupils are expected to arrive at school in plenty of time to ensure that they are seated in their tutor classroom for registration at 8:30am.

• Students are expected to arrive at school in time for 8:30am registration.
• All students have a 25 minute registration period
• Students have a 25 minute break and 50 minute lunch each day
• Lessons occur throughout the school day lasting either 50 minutes or 1 hour 40 minutes

Enrichment and house activities occur on most days after school and school activities finish at 5.00pm unless prior notice is given otherwise.

Parental Support

Pupils should come “ready to learn” and equipped for the school day.   

Punctuality and high attendance are strongly valued by the academy as they prepare the pupils for their future ventures both academically and in the world of work; we value our parents' support in ensuring pupils arrive at school on time and are rarely absent.  Results show that pupils with a high level of absence achieve lower GCSE grades than their peers; please contact your child’s Head of Year or tutor if you are concerned about your child’s attendance. 

You will be contacted by email/text message if your child does not arrive for registration in the morning.
