Pupils celebrate GCSE Examination Success at Haberdashers’ Borough Academy

The class of 2025 are celebrating this week having received an excellent set of GCSE outcomes. Having worked exceptionally hard throughout the academic year, pupils have received grades today that they can be extremely proud of.

This cohort have outperformed the national metrics in many of the key measures. 74% of pupils achieved a grade 4+ in English Language (national pass rate is 59.7%) with 75% of pupils achieving a 4+ in Mathematics (national pass rate is 58.2%). The proportion of top grades awarded in both English and Maths has also increased this year, to 15%. 44% of pupils also achieved the English Baccalaureate at grades 4 and above.

Although this year there will not be a nationally published progress score, our internal estimation is that these results would reflect strong progress for the cohort.

 A number of pupils secured the top grades. We extend special congratulations to:

• Finley achieved 6 Grade 9’s and 2 Grade 8’s, with 1 Grade 7
• Elliot achieved 6 Grade 9’s 1 Grade 8, 1 grade 7
• Zergham achieved 5 Grade 9’s, 3 Grade 8’s and 1 Grade 7
• Prushoth achieved 6 Grade 9’s, 1 Grade 8, 2 Grade 7's and 1 Distinction*
• Leyla achieved 4 Grade 9’s and 5 Grade 8’s

These results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of pupils and colleagues at the Academy. The results are very positive and will open doors to the future for pupils. We are delighted that so many have chosen to return to Haberdashers’ Borough Academy Sixth Form this September.
