Celebrating an excellent first set of GCSE Results

Pupils at Borough Academy are celebrating after receiving an excellent set of GCSE results. On behalf of the staff, we would like to congratulate each and every student for their hard work and dedication. We are incredibly proud of you.

Our inaugural cohort have set the bar high, with attainment that is above the national average in each of the key measures. 73% of pupils achieved a 4+ in English and Maths, with 49% achieving the strong pass in this measure. 46% of pupils achieved the English Baccalaureate at 4+. We are particularly pleased that 22% of all entries were graded at Grades 7 and above.

A significant number of pupils achieved the very highest grade of a 9, with 9’s awarded in every subject entered. Our special congratulations go to:

• Harriet who achieved 7 grade 9s
• Seb who achieved 4 Grade 9s
• Sinead who gained 5 Grade 9s
• Luc who achieved 4 grade 9s
• Max who achieved 4 grade 9s

We are delighted with this first set of results for our inaugural cohort. These results are a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of pupils, balanced with the excellent support of colleagues. Pupils can look forward to bright futures as they embark upon aspirational pathways for Post 16. Many pupils will be continuing at Haberdashers’ Borough Academy, as we open the Sixth Form this September.
