Report a Concern Belonging Festival - Friday 3rd July 2026
Friday 3rd July marked a very special day across the Haberdashers’ Academies Trust - as we celebrated our 20th Birthday. For our sister school, Hatcham College, 2026 marks 150 years of educating the young people of South London! Of course, Borough’s journey is much more recent, but in our first year as a ‘full’ school - with 1000 young people now educated here, it was a moment of reflection, as we considered what it truly means to belong at Borough.
We celebrated with a special ceremony, attended by our CEO Jan Shadick, and Prime Warden Caroline Davies. The ceremony was opened by our Girls Sports Leaders, included performances from every year group, and even a snippet of our production of Romeo and Juliet. The debut performance of our Trust Song was also shared; written and recorded by Borough Students, alongside our peers across the Trust. The ceremony closed with a time capsule - put together by our student leaders. Students included letters, photos, and mementos of our first years in the building; to be rediscovered by Borough Pupils of the future !
