Tuesday 6 June 2023 Assessments Year 7, 8 and 9 assessments will take place in lessons between 5th and 16th of June. Year 10 assessments will take place in the exam hall between 12th and 23rd of June.

Wednesday 22 March 2023 Haberdashers' Deputation Day @ Borough Academy We were proud to host our first Deputation Day on 22nd March 2023. This was an opportunity for our sponsors, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, to visit the school in action, meet with pupils and staff, and celebrate all the wonderful things that happen at our school everyday.

Friday 14 October 2022 Black History Month - Borough Academy Creative Arts Event Thursday 20th October @ 5pm As part of Black History Month at Haberdashers’ Borough Academy, the Creative Arts department will be hosting a showcase entitled ‘Ears to the Ground’ on Thursday 20th October. The evening will be showcasing our students’ creative response to the theme of protest.

Today we sent an email to every parent and carer with a letter about the election. If you have not received your own copy of that email today, it means we do not have your email address and you will not be able to take part in the election. Friday 24 June 2022 Grand Final - Count On Us Maths Challenge Our team of five talented mathematicians from Years 8 and 9 have won a place in the grand final of the “Count on Us” London schools maths tournament which takes place on July 4th.

Monday 20 December 2021 St Saviour Memorial - 9th December 2021 On Thursday 9th December we invited Andrew Nunn, the Dean of Southwark and Rev’d Jonathan Sedgewick, Acting Archdeacon of Southwark, to conduct the re-interment service which took place in our front courtyard. The choir sang ‘Only Remembered’ by David Sankey and Treasure read an extract from ‘Christmas Day at the Workhouse, by George R Sims.

Thursday 9 December 2021 The Bridge Theatre trip Despite a flurry of cancelled events, this week (Thursday 2nd December) we were able to take a group of students to The Bridge Theatre to watch Nick Hytner's production of The Book of Dust. It was a fantastic performance (with a real baby playing Baby Lyra) and amazing puppet work from the actors. It was wonderful to see (and hear) the students be so involved and engaged with the production.

Monday 22 November 2021 Y9 Careers Day - 19th November On Friday 19th November, Year 9 were off timetable from period 2 to period 6 to participate in Career's Day. Careers day is a unique opportunity for year 9 engage with professionals from a wide range of sectors including law, medicine, construction, hospitality, charity, the arts and business.

Monday 22 November 2021 Goodbye to Grotto. Welcome Y7's It is with mixed emotions that we finally say goodbye to the Grotto site on Friday. It is a site that has served us really well for just over two years and I know the year 9s have some very fond memories of their time as the founding year group there.

Thursday 23 September 2021 The Africa Centre Collaboration 8Powell were treated to the most incredible workshop with the phenomenal Krar Collective singing and playing music on traditional instruments from Ethiopia. Students joined in playing the drums and learnt to dance some traditional dances. This is part of Borough Academy's ongoing relationship with the Africa Centre whose mission it is to educate through culture. They certainly achieved that as well as spreading huge amounts of joy!

Thursday 23 September 2021 Shakespeare on my Doorstep Programme This week, our Year 9 students had the opportunity to visit Shakespeare's Globe for a 90-minute workshop and tour. The pupils got to learn about when the Globe theatre was built, what materials it was made out of and all about the different areas of the theatre and how the seating represented social status in the Elizabethan period.

It is inspired by the book The Dot by Peter H Reynolds and encourages creative collaboration ad self-expression.
